BREATHE: The Fight Continues
Join us at Huston-Tillotson this Thursday, April 22, at 5PM for a celebration of our collective victory, and a vigil for Adam Toledo, Daunte Wright, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, the countless lives taken by police violence
As we breathe a deep sigh of relief and process the results of the Derek Chauvin trial, we are sobered by the countless lives that have been sacrificed to systems of injustice.. We remember that the status-quo remains inherently violent, robbing the world of rich and beautiful lives like Adam Toledo, Daunte Wright, Micheal Brown, Tamir Rice, Philando Castile, Breonna Taylor, and countless others. We will not let up until we have fully reimagined our systems and our democracy —and we will settle for no less.
For now, our collective joy is powerful and revolutionary. And as we celebrate, we remember that what we are celebrating is our own collective power, as the people, as a movement, as a force to be reckoned with; we breathe knowing that this is the key to our resilience, that together we will build the strength and hope we need to love and support each other as we continue this fight.
When: Starting at 5pm
