How it started
Radical Advocates Academy (RAA) launched in October 2022 with a mission to equip aspiring advocates with the tools to drive real change. What started as a vision to strengthen AJC's advocacy efforts quickly grew into a program designed to build power within the community — training passionate leaders to organize and lead impactful policy campaigns.

Why Start a Radical Advocates Academy?
The many intertwined issues that impact Black and Brown Austinites require constant engagement to materially improve people’s lives in Austin and fight oppression. Building capacity within the community to effectively organize and advocate for racial justice across these issues while centering people directly impacted will help propel our efforts to end oppression.
