Black Food Month: Rooted & Rising

(Formerly Black Food Week)

Black Food Month is a month-long celebration dedicated to honoring and promoting Black-owned restaurants and food businesses in Austin. What started as Black Food Week has now grown into a larger movement, giving even more space to celebrate the rich culinary contributions of Black chefs, restaurateurs, and food truck owners. Throughout the month, AJC spotlights these businesses through a digital campaign, encouraging the community to EAT, SHARE, and SUPPORT by dining in, spreading the word, and posting their experiences on social media. Black Food Month aims to drive increased visibility, foot traffic, and love for the Black food scene in Austin — turning every meal into a celebration of culture and community.
