Radical Advocates

Everyone deserves safe, affordable housing and reliable transportation. AJC challenges segregation, displacement, and economic barriers by advocating for equitable housing policies, walkable communities, and accessible public transit, ensuring all Austinites can thrive.

Economic Justice

A just Austin starts with collaboration. This initiative unites city leaders and major corporations to drive projects aligned with Austin’s 2023 Strategic Direction, fostering innovation, economic inclusion, and lasting change for historically excluded communities.

Building Austin School Systems

BASS transforms Austin school systems by confronting racist policies, fostering inclusive learning spaces, and amplifying community voices. Through advocacy and direct action, we create schools where all students—especially BIPOC youth—can truly thrive.

Black Art Matters

BAM is AJC’s annual art show and fundraiser, showcasing Black voices through creative expression. This event uplifts Black artists, amplifies their work, and celebrates the power of art in advancing justice and cultural representation.

Black Food Month

Black Food Month is a citywide celebration of Black-owned restaurants and food businesses in Austin. Expanding from its origins as Black Food Week, this month-long initiative shines a spotlight on the rich flavors, culture, and contributions of Black chefs and restaurateurs. Join us in supporting, sharing, and savoring the best of Austin’s Black food scene!

Bro Brunch

A community space for Black men to gather, share, and support one another. More than a meal, Bro Brunch fosters healing, growth, and meaningful conversations that redefine manhood through vulnerability, strength, and connection.

Project Orange

Project Orange empowers eligible incarcerated individuals in Travis County Jail to vote. In partnership with Houston Justice Coalition, we educate detainees on their rights and challenge systemic barriers. Through advocacy, we amplify the voices of those impacted by the justice system.
