Jessica Johnson, J.D.
Jessica Johnson is a licensed attorney who has spent her legal career working in the nonprofit realm representing and providing legal assistance to hundreds of low-income Texans and survivors of interpersonal violence. She is the Deputy Director of Texas Fair Defense Project as well as the co-founder of groundwork co-creative, a consultancy that helps nonprofit and grassroots organizations strive towards liberation. Jessica is a creative and an organizer grounded in the ancestral spirit of making a way out of no way and honoring the resourcefulness and determination of her foremothers. She is also a former Texas Rollergirl, a lover of audiobooks and travel, as well as an abolitionist practitioner. She received her bachelors from the College of William and Mary and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
